• Holiday Ham

    Ham Glaze
    1 cup brown Sugar
    2 Tbsp spicy brown mustard
    2 Tbsp maple syrup
    1 Tbsp honey
    1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

    • Whisk all Ingredients in a sauce pot on medium heat.
    • Bring to a simmer, continue to mix as it reduces.
    • Reduce to thicken enough to coat a spoon. Reduce heat to low.

    Ham

    • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
    • Trim off skin of ham with pairing knife. Leaving about 1/2” thick of fat around the entirety of the ham. Score the ham with a cross mark pattern (do not cut into the flesh of the ham, do the best you can not to). 
    • Put in a roasting pan, cut side down with a 1/2” of water in the bottom of the pan. 
    • Coat ham with 1/3 of the glaze.
    • Roast for 30 minutes in the center of the oven. Remove ham and turn heat down to 350 degrees F. Check to make sure there’s still water in the bottom of the pan.
    • Coat ham with 1/3 of the glaze and return to oven for about an hour.
    • Tent ham with foil (try not to touch the ham with the foil or it will stick).
    • Remove ham from oven and remove the foil tent.
    • Check the ham for desired outside crispness/color. 
    • Check to make sure there’s still water in the bottom of the pan
    • Coat with remaining glaze and return to either 350 F oven (if outside crispness/color is achieved) or 375 F oven if more crispness is wanted for 30 minutes.
    • Remove from oven and check internal temp for 145 degrees F (more is fine).
    • Wrap with foil and let rest for 30 minutes.
    • Carve to your liking with a serrated knife and enjoy!
